Walter Elias Disney was born on Dec. 9, 1901 on North Tripp Avenue in Chicago, Ill. Later, when Walt was four years old, his family moved to Marceline, Missouri with his four siblings.

Walt loved Marceline's Main Street, and replicated it at his theme parks.

Walt loved walking down Main Street in Marceline. When he was older, he used his memories of walking on Main Street to create the Magic Kingdom.

Walt didn't start school until he was seven.

Walt carved his initials in his second-grade school desk.

He had trouble paying attention. He drew cartoons in his school books. Walt dropped out of school at age 16. His first job was delivering newspapers at age 9. He also worked on a train at 15 years old.

On July 13, 1925, Walt married Lillian Bounds. They had two daughters.

Some of Walt's major accomplishments were creating the Walt Disney Company and creating his multi-playing camera. His first feature-length animated film was Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

Disneyland was the first theme park, he was the winner of 26 Academy Awards and he has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also received a Congressional Medal of Honor.

Walt did not have a lot of money growing up. He worked for a man named Charles Mintz who stole [his first cartoon character] Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

And that's the story of Walter Elias Disney.

PS Oswald the Lucky Rabbit was not so lucky.
