Geocaching in a Utah Blizzard by DOYLE
By DOYLE
I went geocaching yesterday. I did it with Callie and my mom. I did it in Park City, Utah, right before a blizzard.
Geocaching is fun. Geocaching is where there's a box or bottle with a notepad and a pen or a pencil, and you write your name when you find it. There are also little prizes. You can take them but you have to put new prizes in.
There's an app you can download and that tells you where to go to find it, and then you have to search.
There was a hint, and that was "a tree without branches." It was a telephone pole.
It was pretty easy to find, and the box that it was in was a .24 caliber ammo box. When we looked inside we were amazed.
My mom, Callie and I signed our names in the journal. The prizes were a thing like drums, with a stick and a circle, and two little ropes and a tiny ball, and when you swing it up and down, the ball on the string hits the drum and make the drum noise. We didn't take it because we didn't have any prizes to put back in.
It had been covered in branches when we found it, so we covered it back up and then went home.
It was really cool. We go geocaching a lot. This wasn't the best thing we ever found. There was a pocket knife in a bin once. We didn't take it. We had something to put in but Mom said no.
The snow flakes were huge!
